Photoshoot Ideas for Fundraising Calendars

Need inspiration? Here are some of the amazing ways our customers have created successful fundraising calendars ...

Schools out for Summer

Give your childrens' artwork pride of place in an annual art competition to be featured in the school calendar. Take a high-res scan of their mini-masterpieces and add the title, child's name and year group as the caption. With our academic calendars you can select the starting month as September. It works well to take pre-orders in the summer term for distribution to parents at the start of the new year.  School calendars are a great way to keep busy parents informed of important events, term dates, cake sales, inset days etc.

Get your kit off!

The Women's Institute raised over £1million with this simple, saucy idea. Use bats and balls to conceal your bits-and-bobs and sell a bundle!!  Warwick University Rowing Club and the Breast Friends created some of the most successful naked calendars we've ever printed, winning awards and an international media coverage.

From Props to Pin-ups

Take your photos in black & white and create a stylish, sexy (and more flattering) calendar. Add some moody looks and it's Andy Murray or Jessica Ennis-Hill, eat-your-heart-out!  A winning idea for varsity teams, sports clubs and societies.

Man/Woman of the Month

Commission individual portrait shots of each team player for each month of your calendar and celebrate 'Mr January' or 'Miss February'. Works well with the 13 page designs, for example our economical A4 7 Leaf Double Sided Wall Calendar.

Smells like team spirit

Get your gang to dress up as rock stars or choose a musical theme such as Punk, Eighties or heavy metal for each calendar month. Alternatively, re-enact scenes from your favourite films or music videos.

Celebrate your achievements

Pick the best action shots from your team's season and highlight individual and team achievements in the caption areas, for example 'Johnny Barnes: Last season's top point's scorer'.

All club together

Spread the calendar across different age groups or classes and feature a different year group on each month. Get teachers and coaches involved too.

Promote your Sponsor

Feature your sponsor's logo on each page with any of our 'Sponsor logo' calendar styles in exchange for a little help towards your set-up costs. Your sponsor will benefit from year-round brand exposure to your supporters and positive PR. Just select 'design with extra logo space' on our product pages before your start.

Picture Perfect

Hold a photo competition to capture what it is people love about the place, school or sport you share. Alternatively find a budding photographer to capture an event or fixture.

Image Size

Whatever theme you go for, make sure your photographs are large with a high resolution of at least 300 dpi (dots per inch). Some smart phone cameras will deliver this quality but a professional camera is usually a better source of print-quality images.

To work out how large each image needs to be, check the image area dimensions of the calendar you wish to print. For example if you want an A3 wall calendar with the image covering the top half of the page, your image will need to be approximately A4 in size (210mm x 297mm).

You can upload your images direct to your image album or straight into our Calendar Editor tool. the Team Calendars Editor will flag up any images that are too small or low res to use. Images can be uploaded from a mobile phone but we reccomend you edit your calendar design on a desktop computer for the full user controls.

Please don't hesitiate to call us if you have queries about images or artworking and remember, if you'd rather not do the design part, check out our Design By Us service.

Now go forth and fundraise!
